Steve - apparently the calls get redirected through to the state system if you call from JP using a cell, so it takes a second to redirect. I actually experienced this when I called 911. Still, they responded really quickly.

Second - cellular calls to 911 in MA always go to the MSP barracks in Framingham. It’s a limitation of the system supposed to go away by 2007.
