Verizon Wireless put a Monkey on my back

You can't delete the Mobile Web option from your Verizon Wireless account online.

I just tried it and there is no selection box on the self service online form.

You can't delete the Mobile Web from your Verizon Wireless account via their automated customer support phone line. It only gives you the option to add Mobile Web. I just tried it.

You can't delete the Mobile Web from your Verizon Wireless account by calling customer service and talking then on the phone when their system is down. I just tried it.

They told me to try to do it online. I told them that I couldn't do it online. (see above)

I then explained that I couldn't do it via the automated phone support line. They said they knew that already.

They told me to call back again.

A company with good customer service would have agreed to remove Mobile Web from my phone as soon as their systems came back online and send me a confirmation via email, phone or regular mail.

I put the monkey on their back and they promptly took the monkey and put it right on my back.

I don't want a monkey on my back.

  1. Steve,

Having a monkey on your back is backbreaking, eh? I can't believe they told you to call them back! Knowing them, you probably had to wait another umpteen minutes to get back through :)

Yes, the cellular industry needs to get with it on the customer service. That's why I've banned them! Yes, I'm probably the only person on the planet without a cell phone :)
