The importance of teaching creativity

"Here's another terrific, brief, talk from the 2006 TED conference. Sir Ken Robinson believes that education systems worldwide are profoundly broken in that they devalue, and even discourage, creativity."
The universities designed the [current education] system in their image. If you think of it, the whole system of public education around the world is a protracted system of university entrance. And the consequence is that many highly talented, brilliant, creative people think they're not. Because everything they were good at at school wasn't valued, or was actually stigmatized. And I think we can't afford to go on like that.
