Boylston Street: Worst Crosswalk Signal Ever

They installed these crosswalk buttons incorrecltly and tried to make it better by using sineage. If they installed the buttons the right way in the first place, the signs would not be necessary.

The button needs to be pointed in the direction of the street. This is the worst installation I have ever seen!

    Pretty bad!

Hey Steve, have you ever tried the cross-walk secret code? Try pressing the button in this sequence:

    3 short
    2 long
    1 short
    2 long
    3 short

On many systems it will immediately (or quite quickly) close down the entire intersection to vehicular traffic, and open up pedestrian traffic in all cross-walks, and the cross-walks will usually stay open 2 to 3 times longer than normal.
