People come to these nights to watch and experience music. In these cases, it would be pretty unreasonable to ask a visiting musician to turn down their music so that you and your friends can hear each other talk. Anonymous is right, the DJs are often there to perform, not just provide background noise. If I don't like the DJ on a particlular night, I just go someplace else.
