CRACK
On Thursday while driving on the highway, a rock hit my windshield, as a large truck with a tarp over the back passed by. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.
INSURANCE
I got on the app for my insurance company, Amica Insurance. I haven’t had a claim with them since the time my Saab 900 was flooded after a beer fest at Suffolk Downs back in the day, but that’s another story.
The AMICA app led me through the steps to make an appointment with Safelite for a windshield repair since the chip was less than 6 inches.
I got an appointment for the next day, Friday!
REPAIR
Dylan came and used the patented Safelite tools to fill and sure the crack.
Their website explains:
Injection: A specialized resin is injected into the chip/crack. This resin bonds with the glass, restoring its strength and preventing further damage.
Curing: The resin is cured using UV light, ensuring a durable and crystal-clear repair.
You can barely see that the crack ever happened. Repair is the way to go.
