Let's Not Ban Therapeutic Cloning Too.
Two weeks ago, the US House of Representatives voted to ban all forms of research that involved the study of human cells, including reproductive cloning and so-called "therapeutic cloning", whose technical term is Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer (SCNT).

Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., said:
... "it is clearly immoral to criminalize using so-called 'therapeutic cloning'"
Now the Senate has a bill, S 303 IS: Human Cloning Ban and Stem Cell Research Protection Act of 2003, that proposes "To prohibit human cloning and protect stem cell research".

My friend's daughter has Diabetes, and asked me help them protect stem cell research. I'm in favor of protecting stem cell research, but why does the govenment tie the protection of this research with the banning of human cloning?
