Harvard Pilgrim Health Care merged with United Healthcare and it's messed up.
REGISTER
I got a postcard telling me to register over at United Healthcare's website, myUHC.com. The instructions read:
1. Logon to myuhc.com. Click "Register Now".This is so stupid!
LOGON MEANS GO TO
You don't "Logon" to myuhc.com, you "Go to" myuhc.com. You can't logon without a username/password.
So I clicked register, and then I saw:
Enter Social Security Number:Not a good sign, but I entered it any way.
SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER NOT REQUIRED
After clicking the continue button, I saw, in a flash, that it said the following UNDER the continue button:
Don't want to provide your SSN?That should be above the continue button...
Register with ID card information
USERNAME IS SHORT
So I registered and made up a new cryptic and foregetable username since thier usernames are limited to 12 characters.
ONLINE PRESCRIPTION IS NOT
Then I went over to refill a prescription, and they had me open a new browser window into 365wellst.com which is really Medco Health. Why they make up a silly name to hide the real company name is beyond me. Over there it says:
Order new prescriptions or prescription refills online here.
Once over there, I find out that the online prescription ordering procedure requires you to use mail order!
Mail order for prescriptionsI would tend to disagree. Online is easier than mail order.
Prescription mail order is easy and convenient --- and delivers medications right to your home.
So at this point I gave up and called my old pharmacy and it turns out that they are still connected to the newly merged Harvard Pilgrim Health Care/United Healthcare.
So I gave them my prescription # and they ordered a refill.
Done.
It shouldn't be this hard.
