I entered this video in the Boston.com travel contest. It didn't win, buy I got some great comments from the judges:
-I felt like Steve and carol gave us a personal look at their vacation. They barely edited the video so I think that shows they really thought about how to tell their story. It's great to get feedback like this.
- I was drawn into the little world of Steve and Carol. They took a boring old house and some swallows of wine and turned it into a playful adventure. There were a few funny moments (gary vaynerchuck sent us!), and the video generally made me curious about who these people are.
- They're contributing to the ongoing conversation online, the comment-response cycle that defines the youtube system-- and that's the heart of amateur video online.
- The video had a clear beginning, middle, and end. And if they had provided parts 1 and 2 of their winery tour, I probably would've watched those as well. Lastly, as a matter of usefulness, I have a very clear sense of what to expect if I decide to go to Napa and visit the St. Clement winery.
-Steve and Carol provided what a good travel story provides.
