Microcenter Cambridge Sales Fail
I went in to Microcenter today to buy a Seagate FreeAgent 1 TB disk for a client.
I'd seen the same Seagate drive at the front of the store for $149.99, so I went back in today to pick it up.
When I looked for it, it wasn't there. So I went over to the hard drive department and only saw USB drives. So I went over to the Mac department and saw the drive on the shelf. Here's the conversation that followed with the sales rep in the Mac department.
Me: Do you have a 1 TB drive for $149.
Sales Rep: I don't reference drives by price, only by capacity.
Me: This drive here is 1 TB, I think it should be cheaper that the marked price of $164.99.
Sales Rep: Sometines the drives are cheaper in the PC department.
Me: Does this support Firewire 400 and Firewire 800.
Sales Rep: Look at the specs on the box.
I took the drive and brought it to the checkout.
It rang up at $149.99!
Cashier: Did anyone help you today?
Me: No.
Me: There was a sales rep in the department who did not know this drive was on sale for $149.99.
Cashier: He should have known that. He was too lazy to look up the price on the computer.
