Donna's Rice Pilaf: It Took Years to Get This Right

My sister-in-law, Donna, makes this rice pilaf all the time. My wife, Carol, and I, have tried to make it over the years, but never got it right.

We never had the recipe either.

We didn't even have the right dish to cook it in.

This time, we decided to figure it out.

We called Donna, while on the way to the supermarket, and she dictated her recipe from memory to us over the phone.

I wrote it down this little piece of paper.

It's really simple, but everything has to come together to make it right.

Donna's Rice Pilaf
3 cups water
4 bullion cubes (chicken or beef)
1 stick butter
1 cup Uncle Ben's original rice
1 handful of thin egg noodles
1 casserole dish

Melt one stick of butter in a large frying pan over medium heat.

We used thick noodles instead of thin. ;-)

Add the handful of noodles and 1 cup Uncle Ben's original rice to the pan.
