Lady Gaga Bad Romance on bitly.tv
Bitly needs to improve the auto-twitter message they send out from a generic one to something more specific to the video.
Now it's:
You have to see this video on bitly.tv bitly.tv/8EHtZN
It needs to be changed to something like:
Watch Lady Gaga - Bad Romance video on bitly.tv bitly.tv/8EHtZN
The first implementation is mystery meat navigation.
The New Quicken Essentials for Mac 2010: If you need more advanced investment features, try Quicken Mac 2007
Quicken for Mac discontinued supporting the downloading of stock values for Quicken 2006 and previous versions, but there's a new Quicken coming in 2010 and you can buy it to get some of the features that were taken away from you.
Quicken Essentials for Mac Personal Finance Software - Mac Financial Software:
"Quicken Essentials for Mac allows you to track the overall value of your investment accounts and the value of your specific holdings. It will not, however, track investment buys and sells, nor will it provide some advanced investment performance reports. If you need more more advanced investment features, try Quicken Mac 2007."I was hoping that the new version of Quicken for Mac would bring back online stock quote features of Quicken 2005.
It will bring quotes back, but not track buy and sell transactions.
Curious.
For those of us using the Macintosh version of Quicken, downloading stock quotes, a feature that we purchased when we initially bought the software has been discontinued on older versions of the software.
See:
Information for Quicken 2006 customersI think it's wrong for a main feature of a software package, like stock quote downloads, to be taken away, and then put in a newer version that we need to pay for.
As of April 30, 2009, in accordance with the Quicken discontinuation policy, online services1 and live technical support will no longer be available for Quicken 2006 users.
These services include online bill pay; downloading financial data from your bank, credit union, credit card, brokerage, 401(k), or mutual fund accounts; downloading stock quotes, news headlines, and other financial information into Quicken; uploading portfolio information from Quicken to Quicken.com; and providing access to the investing features on Quicken.com, including portfolio tracking, any watch lists you have created, One-Click Scorecard™, Stock Evaluator, and Mutual Fund Evaluator.
Here are the dates older versions of Quicken were retired:
Quicken 2006 – April 30, 2009
Quicken 2005 – April 30, 2008
Quicken 2004 – April 30, 2007
Quicken 2003 – April 25, 2006
Quicken 2002 – April 19, 2005
Quicken 2001 – April 19, 2005
Quicken 2000 – May 18, 2004
Quicken 98 and 99 – April 20, 2004
For additional information concerning this change, refer to Retiring Online Services for Older Versions of Quicken.
It's forcing users to upgrade.
We initially bought Quicken to keep track of stock quotes.
That would be like car manufacturers discontinuing support of news radio in cars and making owners upgrade to get the news back.
Well, maybe not like that but you get the idea.
Still looking for a good Quicken replacement. What do you use?
There's a discussion over on MacInTouch.

New York City Sounds: Underground Music: Canon 7D, 1080/24p
Mike Kobal:
The 7D holds up very well, most clips ISO1600, 3200, contrast enhancement and b/w conversion in post. Steep curves applied to some clips bring out the noise, no noise reduction applied here since I really like the grainy look for this subject matter. Keeping it raw and real. Shot hand held, mostly, 17-55mm, 12-24mm, 11-16mm, wide open. Sound recorded with Sennheiser MKE 400.Very cool.

How Republicans Can Win the Senate in Massachusetts
Brown hopes issues give him an opening - The Boston Globe:
"To win statewide, however, the GOP generally needs to capture the votes of more than two-thirds of independents, who constitute 51 percent of the Bay State electorate. The Republican will also need to peel off some conservative and moderate Democrats, particularly in blue-collar areas where turnout was unusually light in the Democratic primary, which featured four candidates."Thanks Brian C. Mooney for writing an article that has some facts in it and not framing the Massachusetts Sante race as a horserace. Thanks too for not ignoring Joseph L. Kennedy, "a Libertarian running as an independent, who is not related to the late senator."

Wine in the Supermarket
Let's allow wine to be sold in more supermarkets in Massachusetts.

Beer in the Supermarket
So convenient.
We need to allow beer to be sold in more supermarkets in Massachusetts.
In Florida, gangs of underage kids are NOT going wild, buying beer, from lax supermarkets.

Chris Brogan suggests that you "Revisit Your Site Carefully"
I took a careful look at my site, stevegarfield.com.
I've got two main calls to action: Follow me on twitter, and buy the book. Are those prominent enough?
I've got three more calls to action regarding the book, too many?
My Blog and Video Blog are under the fold. Hidden?
I've got lots of videos hidden under the top menu options for About Me and Videos. I'm thinking that I might want to put video on the front page. I do have a small video player, but that too is below the fold.
Do people actually read hte friendfeed stream?
Thoughts?
How does your site look?

Now Coakley Wants to Debate, and Make it a Three-Way!
Coakley suggests three-way debates:
What do you think?
US Senate candidate Martha Coakley is suggesting that she will not agree to debates unless long-shot candidate Joseph L. Kennedy is involved, a strategy that appears to be an effort to make the Senate race a three-party run.Interesting.
What do you think?
