Really?

I can't even report a spammer who starts following me as Jennifer Lawrence, Model, from The Affiliated Senior High School of National Taiwan Normal University?

That's sad.



That's the first time I ever saw that option although I'm told it's been there for a while. I read it incorrectly.

It says, "Pretending to be someone else, not me."

Which I read as, "Someone is out there pretending to be someone else, they are not pretending to be me, but some famous person."

It's early.

I chose another option and reported them as a 'Fake Profile.'

How to Clear out Video Exports Stuck in FCP X Share Monitor

I was trying to export a new video to YouTube via FCP X, but it wasn't working because an earlier video was stuck.

Any new video would sit in the export queue, called 'Share Monitor', and then cancel out after a while.

Clicking the 'X' beside the stuck file wouldn't work.

I went over to the Apple Support Discussion boards and found my answer.

You need to go to Macintosh HD > Username > Library > Application Support > Apple Qmaster > Storage > ' A folder with a bunch of Letters and Numbers> Jobs

Then delete the content in that folder.

In Lion, this directory is hidden.

To get here in Lion: Hold the Option key in the Finder and use the Go menu.

Reboot the computer and open up FCP X.

Go to Window > Background Tasks.

All exports are gone from the Share Monitor queue.

These days when I visit Flickr, it's a page of shared Instagram photos.

I share my best Instagram photos on Flickr too.

Here are some things that I like about Flickr:

Creative Commons
Flickr still has it's good points, like Dave said Creative Commons. I like how I can choose a CC license for my photos. Myself, and may others have complained for YEARS that the CC license is not displayed on photo embeds. It's such a simple addition. I even went as far as getting the head of Creative Commons to ask Flickr about this. There are also many posts on their message boards.

No one ever listened and changed it.

Embeds and Sharing
Flickr also still has great sharing features for embedding photos on blogs. Instagram doesn't. I also love the Flickr integration on Storify, where when you write a story, you can simply click and drag a photo into your post. That's a great integration.

View Counts
Instagram doesn't track view counts. When I post to flicker via email and cross-post to twitter, I see lots of views on my photo. When I post to Instagram and cross-post to twitter, I see a lot of LIKES and comments. I really like the ambient intimacy of that, but I'd still like to be able to see view counts.

Shot with iPhone 4 and Kogeto DOT that I received to evaluate.



First Impressions right out of the box:

Shot my first video.

Realized there was a protective cover on the lens.

Removed it

Shot my second video.

Video started processing.

BUT, I wanted to take photos.

Didn't know if it was ok to put the app in the background.

Suggestions:

1. Put a red dot to stripe on the protective covering so people will know to remove it.

2. At first I thought that you should not start processing automatically, or make it a user defined option so you can process later, but I see that it will be instantaneous in 1.1. That's good.

3. No tripod mount. Really? The DOT is so awkward to hold it makes sense to have a tripod mount on there. Gave feedback to see if they thinking about this?

Chris O'Brien, Mercury News Columnist found Louise Macabitas: How one student's pepper spray photo became an Internet meme:

Of course, creating an Internet sensation was the last thing on the mind of Louise Macabitas, 22, a psychobiology major at UC Davis, when she grabbed her camera and went down to the protest.

She began snapping photos as Lt. John Pike of the UC Davis police walked along a row of huddled students, spraying a bright orange mist of pepper spray into their faces. He got so close to Macabitas that she got pepper spray on her jeans.

Later, she downloaded the photos, and one in particular stood out, which she posted on her Facebook wall.

That photo was shared by many of her friends. One of them eventually posted it in the online Reddit community, a social news site whose members tend to have a snarky sensibility and strong political views, and who frequently remix various objects to trigger many of the Internet's biggest memes.

The Pepper Spray photo caught fire on Reddit, and then spilled back into mainstream sites, according to Kim. Already, the Pepper Spray meme extends beyond Macabitas' photo.
There are YouTube videos of the incident that have more than 1 million views.

People are selling T-shirts with various versions of the Pepper Spray photo. And people have even taken to Amazon.com to write satiric reviews of pepper spray products:
"Accept no substitutes when casually repressing students," reads one such review. "Whenever I need to breezily inflict discipline on unruly citizens, I know I can trust Defense Technology 56895 MK-9 Stream, 1.3% Red Band/1.3% Blue Band Pepper Spray to get the job done!"

Meanwhile, Macabitas remains surprised by all this, but she's also quite comfortable with it. She's glad her photo has helped tell the story of what happened that day, even if it's spread that tale to a far wider audience than she expected.

"It was so emotional watching that cop pepper spray those students," Macabitas said. "I couldn't believe something like that was happening at UC Davis. I just wanted my friends to see what was really going on. I had no idea it would spread across the whole Internet, but I'm glad it has."

After 16 hours on air at Wall Street protests, a Ustream star is born

Testing out the Kogeto Dot Looker iPhone App with the Sony 360 Adapter on an iPhone4

I just heard that Kogeto has a free app called Looker for their Dot 360 video adapter. The Looker App takes the 360 video you shoot on your iPhone and makes it viewable and scrollable online.

I had a Sony 360 adapter for the Sony Bloggie and tests with that didn't work so well. The software only works on a PC, and not a Mac. So I put the camera and adapter away.



Then I saw this free app, so I decided to try the Sony 360 adapter on my iPhone.

Here's the Sony 360 adapter attached to my iPhone 4 with the help of a business card.



Next I ran the Kogeto Dot Looker iPhone App with the Sony 360 Adapter on an iPhone4m shot some video, and uploaded it to the Kogeto site.
