Which fictional character, other than monsters, was in the most movies?

Charlie Chan wasn't truly a fictional character.
Chan's creator, author Earl Derr Biggers, patterned him after a real-life detective in Honolulu named Chang Apana that he read about in the newspaper in 1919.
There were 47 Charlie Chan movies
Charlie Chan was the Chinese detective created by Earl Derr Biggers. There were 44 "Charlie Chan" movies made from 1931 to 1949 (actually, there were three others from 1925 to 1929, each with a differenct actor who played Chan).
Can someone please tell me how many movies Santa Claus was in?
