How to Watch
When you go over to CNN.com/LIVE, you'll see four thumbnails on the left hand side of the page. Each of those thumbnail images indicates a LIVE CNN video stream.



At noon, those will change and you'll see one of the thmbnails that says something about Obama.

The user interface of this page could be improved to make it more clear that the images on the left will lead you to a live stream when clicked.

Simply adding text would help.



Update from CNN:

They are workign at improving this. Also, at noon there will be a banner at the top of CNN.com’s main page that will send people to the live stream.

RNC: Video Bloggers on CNN featuring Chuck Olsen

Here's my friend Chuck Olsen being interviewed live on CNN about The UpTake's RNC coverage. This would have been me, except for the fact that I wasn't in St. Paul.

The interview with me was all set up for yesterday, except for the specifics of the location. I was waiting to get the deatails on what remote studio I needed to go to.

I asked the producer if they wanted to also interview Chuck since he was in St. Paul. They said they only wanted me for this one, maybe next time.

Then when they told me the location was the Excel Center, we figured out that somewhere along the line they thought I was in Minnesota.

So yesterday morning the search was on to find Chuck and get him there in time for the interview. Emails, phone calls and tweets were sent out. Where in the world was Chuck? He made it. I think it was supposed to be on at 11:00, but I didn't see it live.

Here is it, on tape. Good job Chuck.

CNN Gets It: iReport.com to display all submissions!

CNN Delegate Scorecard Excluding Superdelegates

Since no one else is going to do it, here's the actual pledged Democratic primary delegate count. Why they continue to highlight superdelegates is troubling me. It's like the media wants to hold on to the idea of Hilary Clinton as the front runner.

They should break their reporting down to show actual delegates, and then as a secondary report, put in superdelegates.

At the convention the superdelegates can vote any way they want, and could all then vote for the presumptive favorite candidate.

Maybe I'm wrong, but if there is that possibility, why continue to include superdeledates as the main tally of delegates.

If you see any news outlet excluding superdelegates in their main tally, I'd love to hear about it and send them a thank you note.

The Boston Globe reports the non superdelegte count in the eighth paragraph of this story, Obama sweeps; Huckabee is strong:

Heading into yesterday's contests, Clinton held a small lead over Obama in the delegate count, 1,055 to 998, according to an Associated Press tally, which includes the results of primaries and caucuses, plus a survey of unpledged superdelegates. But Obama's campaign said last night that after his wins, he leads Clinton by about 70 delegates among those awarded in actual contests.

At least I think it's the non superdelegate count. Not sure where the number 70 comes from. That's the problem.

With more than half of the superdelegates unclaimed, both campaigns remain hard at work. And even those whom they believe are secure could move. Arceneaux, the Baton Rouge delegate whose husband was named by Clinton in the 1990s as head of Sallie Mae, the nation's largest student loan company, said she is well aware of the fact that superdelegates are not firmly bound to a candidate until they stand up at the convention in August.

"I always have the option of changing my mind," she said.

Steve Garfield Scoops CNN: Duncan Hunter Does Not Quit

Jose Castillo has the story of me scooping CNN on Duncan Hunter's announcement yesterday from Manchester, NH that he is not goign to quit the race:

Steve Garfield reported 3 minutes ago that Congressman Duncan Hunter will not give up in his bid for presidency. Steve captured this video as he was walking towards the CNN interview. Using his N95 and qik.com, Steve Garfield beat CNN. Watch out news world, here comes instant media.

As I was walking down the sidewalk in Manchester, NH I asked what was goign on. The response I got was that Duncan Hunter was going on CNN to make a major announcement. I asked if I could interview him live about it. An aide told me to walk back down the sidewalk and talk to another staff member. I replied, "No. I can interview him RIGHT NOW with this cell phone!" So the aide said, go right ahead. then I ran up to him and started streaming live video from the cellphone.

Duncan Hunter DOES NOT QUIT, IS SICK OF MAINSTREAM MEDIA KNUCKLEHEADS:

The Hunter campaign alerted the media to a major campaign announcement coming at 2pmET today, which some may have thought involved dropping out of the race. Instead, he used the opportunity to lash out against ABC News and Fox News Channel for excluding him from their debates/forum this weekend.

“Some knucklehead executives in ABC closed me out. Similarly, Fox News decided not to allow me to take part in the Fox News debate on Sunday,” he said.

Hunter said that he picked up one delegate in the Wyoming caucus, which put him ahead, at least until tomorrow night, of candidates like Rudy Guiliani and John McCain.

Hunter wasn’t done. “A guy who actually had some points on the scoreboard, that was myself, was not allowed to attend,” he said. “Knucklehead, arrogant executives in the corporate media world at ABC and Fox News, in some third or fourth story glass offices, decided my campaign was over.”

It wasn’t, as he announced to applause from the gathered crowd. Interestingly, CNN was the only network to pick up the speech live, despite it being advertised earlier in the afternoon on Fox News Channel. MSNBC came in a few minutes after the announcement.

Michael Moore Doesn't Talk in Soundbites

After running a video report by Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Wolf Blitzer follows standard operating procedure and asks Michael Moore, live on CNN, for a few soundbite responses.

Moore refuses to answer in soundbites and then proceeds to let CNN have it for their poor reporting leading up to the war, among other things.


Michael Moore Rips Wolf Blitzer on CNN:

Woolf Blitzer: "You want to respond to anything you just heard?"

Michael Moore: "Yeah I'd like about 10 minutes to respond to what was said.."

Woolf Blitzer: "Well, give us a couple headlines of what you'd like to say?"

Michael Moore: "I don't talk in soundbites."
