Barack Obama Sent Me An Email

Steve --

We may not know the final outcome of today's voting until morning, but the results so far make one thing clear.

When the dust settles from today's contests, we will maintain our substantial lead in delegates. And thanks to millions of people standing for change, we will keep adding delegates and capture the Democratic nomination.

We knew from the day we began this journey that the road would be long. And we knew what we were up against.

We knew that the closer we got to the change we seek, the more we'd see of the politics we're trying to end -- the attacks and distortions that try to distract us from the issues that matter to people's lives, the stunts and the tactics that ask us to fear instead of hope.

But this time -- this year -- it will not work. The challenges are too great. The stakes are too high.

Americans need real change.

In the coming weeks, we will begin a great debate about the future of this country with a man who has served it bravely and loves it dearly. And we will offer two very different visions of the America we see in the twenty-first century.

John McCain has already dismissed our call for change as eloquent but empty.

But he should know that it's a call that did not begin with my words. It's the resounding call from every corner of this country, from first-time voters and lifelong cynics, from Democrats and Republicans alike.

And together you and I are going to grow this movement to deliver that change in November.

Thank you,

Barack

Obama: Smart, normal, curious, not radical, and post-Boomer

Barack Obama Rally Boston 10/23/07
Marc Andreessen: An hour and a half with Barack Obama:
"Having met him and then having watched him for the last 12 months run one of the best-executed and cleanest major presidential campaigns in recent memory, I have no doubt that Senator Obama has the judgment, bearing, intellect, and high ethical standards to be an outstanding president -- completely aside from the movement that has formed around him, and in complete contradition to the silly assertions by both the Clinton and McCain campaigns that he's somehow not ready."

What Do Elders Think About John McCain's Age?

The Time Goes By Interview - Alex Bennett:
"Ronni Bennett: John McCain is being attacked more frequently lately as being too old - 72 at inauguration if he is elected - to be president. What do you think?

Alex Bennett: Well, death or incapacity could be more of a reality at his age as it is for the rest of us, so who he chooses as his VP is crucial. Obama will no doubt use his age as a negative."

The Real Delegate Count

Election Center 2008 - Election & Politics News from CNN.com

Obama is Winning - Taking a look at pledged delegates too and ignoring superdelegates for now. Yay!

Superdelegates take another look at Obama:
The Democratic superdelegates are starting to follow the voters -- straight to Barack Obama.

Barack Obama cruised past a fading Hillary Rodham Clinton

Obama Wins Wis. Primary, Hawaii Caucus:
WASHINGTON (AP) - Barack Obama cruised past a fading Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Wisconsin primary and Hawaii caucuses Tuesday night, gaining the upper hand in a Democratic presidential race for the ages.

The twin triumphs made 10 straight for Obama, and left the former first lady in desperate need of a comeback in a race she long commanded as front-runner.
It's not looking good for Hillary. People don't like her going negative.
Allocation of the 20 Hawaii delegates was not being calculated until later Wednesday.

The network commentators like John King on CNN are now asking people to exclude the Superdelegate count when looking at the race to see who is ahead.

Like I've been saying all along.

Superdelegates are going to change their minds and back the front runner.

Obama Wins Donation Landslide

Liza Sabater: If fundraising were an election, Barack Obama has won it by a landslide
If small donations where a trend for the elections, Obama would win the primaries and the general elections by a landslide.
Baratunde: HAAAA HAAAA: Hillary "Loans" Self $5M; Obama Gets $6M From The People In 24 Hours
...the Clinton campaign admitted that she had written her campaign a check for $5M in the month of January, yes the month in which Obama cleared $32M.

Video: Lawrence Lessig on Barack Obama

Baratunde Thurston says, "spread this message and this video for obama and for us":
I so hope we are not too late. I honestly feel that we, all people alive in this country at this time in our history, are lucky to even have the choice of Barack Obama. I feel that our answer to this opportunity represents a test. Are we worthy? Are we ready? Are we willing to stand?

I have worked hard to use my words, my voice, my comedy to find my own truth in this election and share it as far and as wide as possible with those who have ears to hear.

And yet, I fear it’s never enough.

I’m sharing a video made by one of the most impressive thinkers of our time who got behind Obama early and helped craft what is hands down the most innovative technology platform proposed by any presidential candidate.

His name is Lawrence Lessig. He’s huge in the world of innovation and copyright and has made his new issue that of government corruption. He is worth listening to, for he is so down with the struggle, and the readers of this blog know something about struggle.

Lessig is not out marching in the streets for prison reform, but he is trying to free all of us from the shackles of institutions which have so effectively choked off our access to our own democracy. The fact that he is so down for Obama is immense.

This video is 20 minutes, and I want you to watch it all. Then I want you to send it (and digg it) to someone you know who says there is no difference of substance between Obama and Clinton or that they will “both bring about change.”
Here's the video:

Obama Rally Boston 9/4/08 - Originally uploaded on flickr by stevegarfield.

Head over to qik.com/stevegarfield to watch the ten videos I broadcast live from the Obama rally last night in Boston. I started out using the ATT 3G network and then switched to the free WiFi.

People how were watching live could chat with me live as I streamed and I could ajust my coverage based on their comments.

Best moment, when the viewers guided me over to the C-SPAN camera nd I talked to the C-Span cmaera guy for a moment and tehn got my N95 on C-SPAN... Ha ha. When I got home and listened to the audio, I was amazed at the good quality. Steve-Span!

I'm With Obama

Just got an email from Ted Kennedy.

He says:
Dear Steve,

When I endorsed Barack Obama on Monday, I was also endorsing a candidate with the power to transform America.

As President Kennedy said in 1960, "It is time for a new generation of leadership."

This campaign is about a new generation of leadership today. A generation ready to be part of something bigger than themselves. A generation ready to change the country, and a generation ready to change the world.

I'm doing everything I can to elect Barack Obama. With less than a week before my state and 21 others make their voices heard, there is no time to lose.

Please join me by making a $50 donation now:

https://donate.barackobama.com/newgeneration

Like my son Patrick and my niece Caroline, I have found a new generation of leadership for America in Barack Obama -- and I hope you have too!

Sincerely,

Senator Edward M. Kennedy

P.S. -- You may have already seen clips of my speech or parts of it on Monday. But take a look here. The energy in that room was amazing, and it's spreading across America:

I made a $100 donation.

Lots of People Must be Donating to Barack Obama

I just tried to make a donation to Barack Obama on his Contribute page but after pressing the 'Process Contribution' button, the page hung up, and on my Mac I see a 'beachball' and Safari now wants me to Force Quit.

Oops.

I wonder if this is happening to a lot of people.
