Evan Richman's Great Photo

Evan Richman has an amazing photo accompanying this Globe article this morning.

With no claim to halo, chief Angel presses on - The Boston Globe.

I saw it in the paper and CC Chapman just emailed me about it too.

I also LOVE this photo.

It really caught my eye and I immediately wondered if he asked Curtis Sliwa to stand still...

And then I thought that I wanted to do it...

Then I remembered that the T doesn't allow photography without a permit...

And then I thought that those rules to don apply to newspaper photographers...

Then I thought that I am going to be a community news photographer for the new BostonNOW newspaper...

Hmm...

TurnHere does client-commissioned projects

NewTeeVee - TurnHere Makes an About Face:

"A typical project, he said — for instance a blurb on a local business lasting a couple of minutes — would be shot in an hour and edited in a few days, at a cost of about $1,000 to the client. Additional services, such as a longer piece or a round of edits suggested by the client, cost extra. TurnHere owns the copyright and gives the client a license to it."

What Would Daisuke Matsuzaka Twitter

Kevin Dugan made this twittermeme up and Bryan Person pointed me to it.

Take a famous person and make up what you think they'd post on twitter... Here's mine.

Videographers Stand By

Chris Ware: This American Life:

"Chris Ware animates a segment from the new Showtime edition of This American Life. It’s the story of a class that becomes obsessed with video-taping everything everyone does… until, like Lord of the Flies, things go awry."

Steve TV

Steve TV is oddly addictive.

It's my experiment in life streaming video.

I'm capturing longer video moments with a Nokia N95 and publishing to Steve TV.

Testing out the feedbeat service which gives you a TV-like viewing experience.

Mike Hudack's Rules for Video Sharing Sites

I'm all in favor of sharing under the CC license. But this is a
complete violation.

Pyro.tv has all my videos and brands them with their logo.

No link back to my page, or to the permalink of this post.

They are violating the CC license by not displaying the same license I
have on my site.

It's all wrong.

If you want to display my video on your site, please follow these rules. If you have a question, ask. Thanks.

Mike is on the case. He's going to share Video Vertigo: Video Aggregation Best Practices with them.

Steve TV

I've been testing out the video features of the Nokia N95. Inspired by Justin.TV, I've started making a few life streaming videos called Steve TV.

Here are two of them:

I met Andrea at The Strategy Paradox Meet-Up at Vintage in Boston last night.

She sent along some info on the Okanagan wine region in British Columbia for me. Sounds like a fun place to visit.

Mission Hill Winery (founder of Mike's Hard Lemonade established this winery), is worth the visit:
