PCWorld.com - What Happened to Internet Appliances?
My mom is using an old laptop to access Yahoo Mail and the Internet via AOL.
The laptop she is using is running an old version of Windows and is prone to crashing.
I'm looking into a solution for her.
As I thought about it, I remembered the Internet Appliance, but even Larry Ellison's New Internet Computer Co., which sold cheap Web-surfing devices as an alternative to PCs, is closing its doors.
Is anyone out there making something that supports a dial-up connection to the internet at a reasonable price?
Right now, the eMac looks like a good way to go.
