Adam Kelly, please stop calling me.

I was getting repeated automated messages on my phone from "Adam Kelly". The message said to call 888-249-4134, and that it was not a sales call.

My caller ID identified the incoming call as coming from 312-895-3749.

An internet search showed me this is the company.
Merchants Credit Guide Co.
223 W. Jackson Blvd, Suite 900
Chicago Illinois 60606

Collection Agency

312-895-3749 cell phone
So I gave a call over there and Harold Butler told me that I was getting the calls in error and that they were meant for someone named Sylvia.

He said that they'd remove my name from the list right away.

Cool. A collection agency that cares. :-)

We've been getting these messages for awhile too. A google search led me to you. I will call Ken Hughes back. The funny thing is, he never says who is calling for... I was convinced it was a sales call.

    thanks, Alexa

Steve, I've been getting the same calls, but from someone named "Ken Hughes." I researched this and found it all traces back to the same Merchants Credit Guide Company.

In addition, I found this "Ken Hughes" character reported on two websites, and, both of which are, in turn, a scam operation by a fellow named Magedscen (sp?), who, according to several other sites, is a convicted felon who is attemping to get personal data he can use to scam people who register on either of his two websites. He also allegedly reports legitimate businesses on these sites and then charges them money to have their businesses removed from the sites.

I am writing this at ten minutes before my wake-up time, after having been awakened by one of these calls at 4:00am. I was so upset I couldn't get back to sleep again and this is not good, as I suffer from sleep apnea and occasional insomnia, as well, so the added burden of being awakened from what little sleep I managed to get tonight is not just a nuisance, but a very real threat to my health and my life.
