Current TV // Blog // Citizen Rescue

Robin Sloane vlogs this VC2 report from Jared Arsement in New Orleans.

In an email to me Robin says:
All eyes are on New Orleans and the surrounding area right now. You don't need me to explain the scope of the disaster there.

But, let me explain this: About an hour ago, I was pulled into an edit bay to see a rough version of a report that we're about to put on air. And as soon as I saw it, I knew we had to put it on the web, too: It is a personal story of the hurricane's aftermath unlike any I've yet seen on TV.

Jared Arsement of Lafayette, Louisiana is friends with a Current producer. So we called him up and asked him to take his camera along as he joined a citizen rescue fleet that briefly plied the sodden streets of New Orleans. He sent us raw footage; we edited it down.
This video will probably be watched by more people on the internet than on TV.

Hey Current TV, now there's an idea.

The American Red Cross.
