In an email to me Robin says:
All eyes are on New Orleans and the surrounding area right now. You don't need me to explain the scope of the disaster there. This video will probably be watched by more people on the internet than on TV.
But, let me explain this: About an hour ago, I was pulled into an edit bay to see a rough version of a report that we're about to put on air. And as soon as I saw it, I knew we had to put it on the web, too: It is a personal story of the hurricane's aftermath unlike any I've yet seen on TV.
Jared Arsement of Lafayette, Louisiana is friends with a Current producer. So we called him up and asked him to take his camera along as he joined a citizen rescue fleet that briefly plied the sodden streets of New Orleans. He sent us raw footage; we edited it down.
Hey Current TV, now there's an idea.
