I Met The Beatles
I'm still on Long Island. Last night's wedding party for cousins John and Diana was truly amazing.
The party was at Diana's parents house which was right on the water. The yard seems to be permanently set up for functions.
Soon after we arrived, I heard Beatles songs, and up on the deck were two guys dressed in black suits with skinny little black ties. The announced that they were John and Paul from Strawberry Fields , a Beatles tribute band made up of former cast members of Beatlemania.
These guys were good.
I enjoyed them so much that I had to call my friend Casey to let her hear some of the music. I ended up leaving a message for her and she texted me back asking if I was drunk at a Beatles concert. Ha! Nope, not drunk, but very happy.
After an amazing array of appetizers and a few Yeungling's, we were entertained down by the water under a huge tent. This tent was so big it could have Cirque de Soleil show under it. The evenings entertainment was provided by Greaseband. They were a really fun party band, and took us through the years, changing costumes for every era, 60's, 70's and 80's.
Unfortunately there isn't any video of me dancing with my cousin Marie, and belting out the chorus of "I Feel Like a Woman" by Shania Twain. That my friends was lots of fun.
