Harpoon Brewery 5:30 Club Tweetup Video and Photos

Mike Schneider took his Belching Monkey Beer review show on location to Harpoon Brewery during one of thier 5:30 clubs.

I grabbed some photos of the cool Harpoon Brewery space and shot a video where you can hear a description of all the beers.

Island Creek Oyster Stout

I brought home a Growler of the 100 Barrel Series Island Creek Oyster Stout, fresh from the tap. Sounds weird, but tastes great. They actually do make it with oysters.

Brewed by Harpoon brewer Katie Tame, using Island Creek oyster farmer Skip Bennett’s revered Duxbury Bay oysters, this beer has a rich body and smooth mouthfeel derived in part from a combination of roasted barley and chocolate rye malts. The roasted malt notes blend beautifully with the briny, mineral flavors of the Island Creek oysters. An addition of hops adds some bitterness to balance the malt sweetness.
