What is an unconference?

Fundamental Law of Conventional Conferences:
"The sum of the expertise of the people in the audience is greater than the sum of expertise of the people on stage."
The first half of our Boston Media Makers meetings are unconferences.

We follow the Berkman Center Meeting method of going around the room and having everyone introduce themselves.

Added to that, we want to hear what projects they are working on and interested in.

While the participants are talking about their projects, we browse over to their web page and put it up on the big screen.

If there's video to go along with what they are talking about, we'll show it, if it's short, or a portion of it if it's long.

If we have a featured speaker, we'd like to have a discussion with them too. It's unconferencey goodness.
