Making Money With Web Video

Carson Daly is quoted in this Reuters article, DailyReel refining Web video search:
"'The industry has been saying 'OK, this phenomenon is happening -- what's the business model?'' Daly said. 'The key to user-generated content is revenue share. You have to empower these filmmakers financially.'"
Hmm. How to feel about this statement?

If someone is going to make money off of your video, it would be nice for them to share the revenue.

  1. This is exactly why I am trying to get podsea to be known. I don't think it is fair fro it to be a 50-50 share when all they are doing is hosting the video. Take Revver for example. 50-50 share when someone clicks on the link. We all know that on videos the brand recognition is higher than anything else out there. It is even higher then TV ad recognition. Why not get paid for the placement and not the clicks?
